Live, lyophilized vaccine against Newcastle Disease, prepared with La Sota strain
Active substance: Newcastle disease virus, La Sota lentogenic strain with minimum titer of 106 DIE50 and maximum titer of 107 DIE50/vaccine dose.
Other ingredients: peptone, lactose.
Chickens, turkeys, pheasants, pigeons
It is intended for the specific prophylaxis of Newcastle disease in susceptible species. Vaccinate only healthy fowls in good condition. The onset of immunity takes place 10 days after the second vaccination. The duration of immunity depends on the number of vaccinations, route of administration and health and maintenance status of livestock, lasting 4 months.
Normally, AVIPESTISOTA vaccine does not cause postvaccinal reactions.
Sometimes, after aerosol vaccination of livestock carrying conditional pathogenic germs, transient, discrete postvaccinal reactions may occur (20-30%), as well as anorexia, dyspnoea, sneeze which subside within 2-3 days. The chickens vaccinated by eye instillation may develop discrete subsiding conjunctivitis, in a small proportion (10-20%).
DOSAGE FOR EACH SPECIES, ROUTE(S) AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION
• by oculo-conjunctival or nasal route: apply a dose of the reconstituted vaccine in each eye or nostril (reconstitute each vaccine dose in 0.1 ml diluter; in order to administer the recommended dose, check to provide 20 drops/ml from the reconstituted vaccine)
• by intramuscular route: reconstitute each vaccine dose in 0.2 ml diluter.
• reconstitute each vaccine dose in 10-40 ml drinking water depending on the age of fowls; 10 ml for chickens up to 30 days old, 20 ml for chickens over 30 days old etc.
• by aerial route (aerosols), reconstitute each vaccine dose in 0.5-2 ml, depending on the device used, with drinking water without disinfectants as diluter;
ADVICE ON CORRECT ADMINISTRATION
The appropriate vaccination period depends on the epizootic condition of the flocks and area where fowls are reared. For farm-reared fowls, vaccination is recommended at the age of 10-11 days with booster after 22-23 days. The subsequent vaccination for immunity maintenance should be carried out after monitoring the immunity status by serological examinations.
For individual administration, use syringes and/or single use or moist heat-sterilized needles.
If administered by aerosols, use aerosol administration devices which form 40-60 microns particles for the first two vaccinations and devices forming 10-20 microns particles for the following vaccinations.
If administered in the drinking water it is very important to provide a 2-4 hours hydrous diet according to the season and then provide the watering system. Add the diluter-reconstituted vaccine in the fresh, clean, disinfectant-free drinking water, after cleaning the drinkers and rinsing them with clear water. Do not provide another drinking water unless the whole vaccine is drunk. To protect the vaccine virus, add 2-3‰ powder milk.
Administer immediately the vaccine after rehydration (maximum 3 hours).
Meat, eggs = 0 days;
Vials with 100, 250, 500, or 1000 doses.
The individual administration vaccine (25-200 doses) is delivered together with the diluter appropriate to the number of doses.
